What’s in store for you?
Given the reality of our psyche and behavior, we can gently nudge people toward certain choices. The proliferation of science-based intervention in behavior and economics is an undeniable trend of the twenties. In recent decades, a host of behavioral economists have won the Nobel Prize for their contributions that have affected our lives. The books by Kahneman, Thaler and Ariely are perennial bestsellers.
Today’s most significant companies, Amazon, Google, the U.S. and U.K. governments, as well as the United Nations and the World Bank, have long established in-house behavioral teams that have been unequivocally proven to be effective. Agencies like Behavioral Insights are successfully operating in all developed countries, providing project and consulting services for government agencies, commercial companies and NGOs.
We will try to understand the practical problems and how to use behavioral sciences for young scientists, businesses.
We will discuss the challenges of justifying and implementing nudging:
What are the limits to the effectiveness of nudging?
What is needed to implement soft policy, both at the state level and in business?
Can an object be pushed in a negative direction when pushed intentionally or unconsciously through the architecture of choice?
Is the tendency toward liberal paternalism the right solution to social problems or is it a forced form of manipulation?
What conditions are necessary for universities, corporations, the state, and students to work together to nurture the conditions for modern practices?
The conference consists of three panels:
Theoretical-conceptual with presentations by guest professors and experts.
Open-call for young scientists in the field of behavioral sciences and economics.
Practical discussion by representatives of behavioral teams, commercial companies, research agencies, and government agencies.
